    Hello,

I'm trying to use Power Automate to access a SharePoint Online list and am getting an error. This is the first flow we have created since launching SPO. I verified my account has permissions to access the list from within SharePoint.  However if I try creating a flow from powerautomate.microsoft.com or from within SharePoint using the "Integrate/Power Automate" menu, I get the same results.  Whenever I try to run the flow I get the following error:

error: status 403 "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation."

Is there something I need to do in SharePoint for it to allow it to be accessed with Power Automate?

    Thanks,

    Steve

What are you using to try and access the list? Post a screenshot?

From within the SharePoint list, I've picked Integrate / Power Automate / Create a flow, and then send email on new item.

It created a new flow with the trigger being SharePoint, When a new item is created and populated it with the starting SharePoint site and list info.

However trying to test or run the flow will generate an error on this very first step with the "unauthorized operation" error in my original post.

It must be a permissions thing, do you have access to add/delete items to that list (i get that's not where you are getting the error but worth testing) the only other thing I can think of is check your connection to sharepoint online (data/connections) then switch account for the sharepoint connector and relogin using the same account you're using, just to refresh the authentication token in case it glitched

We identified the cause of this problem.

We currently use SharePoint on premise and access it via a gateway. We are migrating to SharePoint online.  It seems the flows were not able to distinguish which connector to use. Regardless which of the 2 were selected in the flow step, it seems it was trying to use the gateway one.  Deleting both connectors and building only the cloud connector allowed it to work.

That makes sense it shouldn't for a company the size of MS but sadly it's to be expected with these things.
